Dear Jane
I had a bit of fun recently when I drove my green jeep down to Orissa to support our Under 16s rugby team in the All India U16 Rugby 15s tournament. I had been told the drive would take me 5 and half hours, but it took me 11. I arrived just 2 minutes into the match.

I am very proud to tell you that the lads ended up winning the entire tournament and are now National Champions of India. Read all about it here...

Shounak Lahiri, Director Future Hope India, has just spent a week at Rugby School learning about the pastoral side of running boarding houses. Headmaster Patrick Derham and his wife Alison have personally ensured that Shounak has had a very busy schedule.

It has been another busy few weeks and, as ever , there is plenty to report...
warm regards
Tim
About Future Hope
Future Hope was founded in 1988 to provide a home, an education, medical aid and opportunity to some of the children of Kolkata who found themselves living on the streets.
We started with just a handful of boys but there are now 7 homes (2 girls' homes and 5 for boys) accommodating over 160 children. Our older children are now in full time employment or in further education. |
|

|
In addition is our own Future Hope School where most of our children plus around 110 day scholars (children from the local slums) enjoy the benefits of a good all round education.
|
|
Sport remains an important part of life at Future Hope, which is perhaps best known for its rugby, but also offers a range of other sports both both girls and boys.

Our Youngest Fundraiser?
Grace is just 5 years old, but she has raised £155 for Future Hope after her dad, a photojournalist, visited Future Hope and told her all about it...

Grace came 5th out of over 100 runners in the U6 Girls' Race - part of the 'Hornsey YMCA Crouch End 10K and Fun Run'.
Congratulations and thank you very much to Grace.
Her Mum says: "We hope that the money is useful and helps more of the children like the ones Grace's dad met.
